VIDEO PULSE GEORADAR

Purpose of the development: For non-destructive study of the radar control and subsurface soil structure on the surface and a depth of 2.5 meters to determine the thickness of the layers, the presence therein of metallic and dielectric objects, cavities and fractures.

Recommended application field: Engineering geology, monitoring road conditions, viaducts and waterworks.

Technical characteristic: The pulse generator sensing: - Pulse amplitude - is greater than or equal to 75.7 V; - Repetition frequency up to 500 kHz; - Pulse rise time - less than or equal to 0.4 ns. Transmitting and receiving antenna: - Working frequency band transmitting and receiving parts of the antenna from 0.8 GHz to 1.6 GHz; - Attenuation penetrating directly transmit antenna to the receiver input - greater than or equal to 64.8 dB. Strobe receiver unit: - The noise level given to the input of stroboscopic mixer - less than or equal to 200 mV; - Step reading - 10 ps; - The growth of the transient response of the converter stroboscopic - less than or equal to 0.2 ns; - Average time synchronization errors (jitter) <3 ps. Analog-to-digital converter: - Bit analog-to-digital converter - 16. The control unit: - Communication with the computer via an Ethernet port and a standard cable connection (speed of 100 MB / s). Ranges observation time: 5 ns; 10 ns; 20 ns; 40 ns. Special software controls GPR, GPR receives information, it reflects on the computer screen in the form of the received signals or profile, as well as allows to calculate the thickness of the structural layers of the pavement.

The development stage readiness: Tested experimental exploitation order

Description of the development:
()
GPR is a video-pulse radar system, which is used for sensing subsurface structures of the video-electromagnetic signal. Working band signal of 0.8 to 1.6 GHz, which can determine the location of objects within a few millimeters to tens of centimeters, depending on the depth and the electrical characteristics of the medium under the surface. Sensing objects can be any dielectric layers, and metal dielectric structures are in dielectric layers, as well as cracks and cavities in these layers. GPR consists of: - Multi-channel transceiver (hardware unit); - UWB transceiver antenna system with a high level of isolation between the transmitting and receiving modules; - Software package management transceiver and antenna system antennas, as well as programs for processing radar data and visualize the results of sensing subsurface structures.
