TECHNOLOGY OF LOW CARBON FERROSILICOMANGANESE


Purpose of the development: For the production of low-carbon ferrosilicon manganese developed a highly efficient two-stage technology, providing the smelting of manganese ore without flux by high-carbon ferromanganese and slag processing, which is then used for the production of low-carbon ferrosilicon manganese siliceous Visoko.

Recommended application field: Production of manganese ferroalloys.

Technical characteristic: The technology enables the production of ferrosilicon manganese with a carbon content of 0.05-0.1% in the ore recovery furnaces with a capacity up to 27.6 MVA, and proposed modes of operation of the furnace and general technological activities in conjunction with the original design lining ensure reliable operation during its 15-20 year old.

In the production of manganese ferroalloys technical and economic performance is largely dependent on the through extraction of manganese from the raw material into finished products. At the same time, is an important quality of the ferroalloy and the need for them on the market. There is a growing demand for low-carbon high-silicon (up to 0.1% C) ferroalloys, which is increasingly being used not only as a reducing agent at silicothermic processes, but also as an alternative to expensive nickel in the production of stainless steels. The developer has a wealth of experience in the development of technological schemes of production of manganese alloys, in particular the production of low-carbon ferrosilicon manganese, which include: - Determination of optimum geometrical and electrical parameters of ore-smelting furnaces; - Development of the design of the lining; - Calculation of material, energy balance and gas dynamic process conditions using a specially developed software; - Calculations thermal parameters of the furnace lining; - Development of automated process control systems; - Formulation of electrode paste and the firing of self-caking large diameter electrodes.
