BRAKE RAILCAR PADS FROM THE SPECIAL DUCTILE IRON


Purpose of the development: The technology for the manufacture of brake pads (TC) for a railway transportation of special ductile iron (SVPCH).

Recommended application field: Railway transport. Foundry.

Advantages over analogues: Wear shoes from the SVP iron 3-4 times the wear pad made of cast iron and twice - blocks from phosphorous cast iron. Coefficient of friction pads with SAP iron is 20% higher than that of the pad and gray cast iron phosphide. Braking distances at speeds of 120 and 140 km / h with full service and emergency braking is reduced by 350-500 meters. The technology allows for 100% control pad, which have a strength of 1.5-2 times larger than the block of gray cast iron and phosphorous. The cost of pads with SVP iron exceeds the cost of brake pads made of gray cast iron is only 15%.

The technology allows to obtain blocks with increased resource. Cast iron for brake pad locomotives and cars, which comprises iron, carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, calcium, barium and further comprises magnesium, aluminum, rare earth metals, nickel, chromium, copper and sulfur. Multiple Units pads have been tested in multiple units corresponding depot. Locomotive pads were tested for the Lviv railway.
