UNIVERSAL PLASMA ARC UNIT


Purpose of the development: Universal plasma-arc units of small capacity (UPDA) designed to: - Pilot and semi-industrial production of castings; - Artistic casting; - Production of repair castings, laboratory and experimental purposes.

Recommended application field: Foundry.

Technical characteristic: - The capacity of the crucible (kg): 1-45; - The power of the plasma torch (kW): 20-50; - The pressure in the melting chamber (atm) 0,00001-6,0; - Metal melting rate (kg / min.): 0.5-1.5; - Capacity in the refining of the melt (kg / hr.): 500; - Plasma-forming gas: argon, helium, nitrogen, hydrogen, air or mixtures thereof; - Plasma gas flow (L / min.): 3-20; - Types of crucibles: skull, graphite, ceramic; - A method of casting metal: in vacuo protective atmosphere under adjustable pressure in the air; - Types of remelted metals and alloys non-ferrous, ferrous, refractory metals and alloys; - Smelting methods: plasma-arc direct or side effects; - Means of mixing of metal in the crucible: convection, electromagnetic, mechanical, combinations thereof.

Universal plasma arc unit allows melting, refining and casting of metals and alloys under regulated pressure. The power supply used by the typical arc UPDA the DC. Structure of the installation: solenoid melt mixing; cell shape; melting skull crucible; plasma torch; receiver; foreline pump; vacuum valve; Remote sensor detecting the pressure; solenoid valve; pressure gauge; the gauge; reducer; flowmeter; manifold.
