TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCING DUCTILE IRON BY MODIFICATION METHODS IN THE MOLD
Purpose of the development:
Developed saving technologies of production of machine castings (casings, crankshafts, diaphragms, etc.). Ductile iron produced by modifying the mold.
Recommended application field:
Foundry.
Advantages over analogues:
- Flow modifier 2.5-3.0 times less than the traditional method of ladle inoculation;
- Ensures an effective filtration of the reaction products from the melt and slag modification;
- Crystallization of thin-walled castings (minimum wall thickness of 4 mm) is carried out without the formation of structurally free cementite (whitening);
- Solves the problem of producing ductile iron castings with a wall thickness of 10-15 mm without the use of feeder bobyshok.

Description of the development:
() From modifier metal castings proceeds 80-90% Mg, flow modifier is 0.6-0.7% of a mold of metal. Modification of magnesium-containing modifiers and pyroelectric effect occurs without smoke.
