Purpose of the development: The technology and equipment for the modification of cast iron magnesium in the ladles.

Recommended application field: Foundry.

Advantages over analogues: The degree of assimilation of magnesium is 80-85%, eliminated the explosive interaction of its melt is provided by a high level of environmental friendliness of the process.

Description of the development:

The technology is necessary respect for the equality of mass assimilation costs in the melt and the obtained magnesium vapor in the evaporator. Mg evaporation occurs due to the heat of the melt. The design of the evaporator heat transfer has three main elements: the evaporation chamber; steam line; recessed rod. Magnesium is placed in the evaporation chamber by the heat coming from the melt through the bottom wall and the evaporator is heated to boiling. The vapors Mg through the steam line coming from the evaporator chamber into the melt. The process is used for the treatment of iron directly into the open drive cupola. The design of the evaporator ensures its multiple use, disassembly and fast recharge.
