STEEL WITH VANADIUM NITRIDE HARDENING FOR STAMPS
Purpose of the development:
Ukrainian Institute has developed a technology to produce steel hardening vanadium nitride, which is most effective in the production of cast and rolled carbon steel: significantly increases the fracture toughness, strength, fatigue resistance, cold resistance steels.
Recommended application field:
Foundry.
Advantages over analogues:
By their performance properties of carbon steel with chromium nitride, vanadium competitive with structural hardening steels which are alloyed with chromium, nickel and molybdenum, both at normal and elevated temperatures.
The development stage readiness:
Ready for application
Description of the development:
() The technology involves the use of cast alloys, containing nitrides, which are obtained by metallurgical methods, and ensuring stability in the production of a high level of physical and mechanical properties of steel with nitride strengthening.
High heat resistance and thermal fatigue strength low carbon steel with nitride envisage strengthening their effective use for hot pressing and hammer dies.
Vanadium nitride strengthening die steels can meet the challenges of significant increase in the stability of the economically alloyed steels stamps or decrease in high-alloy steels of molybdenum and tungsten without compromising their stability.
