A significant number of non-compact metal and metal materials to return to production requires compaction, refining, enrichment, removal of non-metallic components and cast their chemical composition in accordance with the technical specifications for the supply. Such non-compact materials such as chips, scrap, sludge, slag, gravel and the like are often lightweight, contain elements of highly contaminated with various impurities, is extremely difficult to process with traditional methods - induction and electric arc. In this regard, a more efficient method of electroslag processing. The method is as follows: in a water-cooled form (mold) with the help of non-consumable electrodes are connected to a power source, induced slag bath of desired composition and it is gradually fed non-compact (fragmented) charge. Passing through the slag melted metal is cleaned from impurities and non-metallic component is refined and then collects in a metal bath beneath the molten slag. In this case, there is a possibility of flexible adjustment of process parameters and active influence on the physical and chemical processes occurring during melting. This in turn makes it possible to fuse a variety of materials in virtually any ratio, and to seek alloys, alloy billets and charge the desired composition. Development is under pilot testing and production applications. There is a project for processing of non-compact installation charge, provides 2000-3000 tonnes per year conditional products.
