WASTE MANAGEMENT OF TITANIUM BY ELECTRON-BEAM MELTING WITH AN INTERMEDIATE CONTAINER METHOD
Purpose of the development:
Disposal of waste titanium by electron-beam melting with an intermediate capacity (ELPE) is intended to provide a chemically and physically homogeneous ingots given chemical composition. The technology provides a wide range of high quality ingots of round and rectangular cross sections.
Advantages over analogues:
The technology allows to process the charge as a non-compact leaf and runner scrap, chips, pieces of titanium sponge. Waste content in the charge - up to 100%.

Description of the development:
() Disposal of waste titanium by electron-beam melting with an intermediate capacity (ELPE) is a kind of commodity processes of ingots of titanium and its alloys. Batch refiner is fed with a certain speed in the melting zone, where it is the melting of the electron beam over the intermediate tank. The intermediate container is used for storage of liquid metal, the averaging of its chemical composition and refining. As the filling of the intermediate container is discharged into the molten metal crystallizer, in which the ingot is formed the desired length. In the process of melting the surface of the liquid metal in the intermediate vessel, at its drain, and the mold is heated sock beams of the electron guns.
