OXIDE CATHODES OF NEW TYPE FOR ENERGY AND RESOURCE PLASMA ARC WELDING AND REFLOW CARBONACEOUS MATERIAL WITH METAL IN ELECTROMETALLURGY
Purpose of the development:
Making contacts multiampere electrodes from carbon materials with metals, operating at elevated temperatures in the electrolytic aluminum and magnesium in graphitization furnaces and synthesis of silicon carbide.

Description of the development:
() The design of the oxide cathode and arc torch on its basis. An oxide cathode of electric arc can operate in oxygen containing gases (up to pure oxygen) and inert gases at currents up to 1000 amperes. Arc torch with an oxide cathode is used for welding in air without any gas or flux protect bulky products from carbonaceous materials with metals.
The technology and equipment are tested for aluminum electrolytic cells in Ukraine, Australia, Italy, UK. Welded cathodes tested in graphitization furnaces in Ukraine.
