DERMOTROPIC DRUGS BASED ON NANOCRYSTALLINE CERIUM DIOXIDE


Purpose of the development: It is proposed to develop medicine to dermotropic properties based on cerium dioxide nanoparticles.

Recommended application field: Manufacturing dermotropic funds.

Advantages over analogues: The test compound is capable of reacting with the surface of the bacterial cell by inhibiting its activity. In addition, the ceria is able to stimulate the growth of the symbiotic microflora, the importance of which in the homeostasis of the skin proved, thus exhibiting prebiotic effect. Also, we have established a powerful antioxidant effect of the compound, and therefore the ability to restore the disturbed pro / antioxidant balance of the skin at the wound. Patients with diabetic foot found dermotropic effect of nanocrystalline cerium dioxide. Healing takes place without the formation of rough scars.

It is known that any damage to the skin caused by mechanical and thermal injuries, accompanied by activation of inflammatory processes, infringement of pro / antioxidant status of the skin in the affected area, the colonization of opportunistic and pathogenic microorganisms. For serious injuries greatly disturbed blood circulation and nervous regulation in the area of ??affected skin. The consequence of this is oxygen starvation of the skin, disorders of repair mechanisms and the subsequent development of gangrene. Practice notes that the widespread use of antibiotics, cytostatics, corticosteroids, immunosuppressive agents often adversely affect the course of inflammatory processes, as this greatly reduces the overall reactivity of the organism, there are complications: allergies, candidiasis, and others. Given the complexity of the treatment of disease, quite often radical measure is surgery with amputation as dead body. Therefore, the development of effective drugs, contributing to the effective healing of wounds is a pressing issue. Our proposed drug is able to accelerate the healing of lesions, as demonstrated in particular in patients with diabetic foot. Ceria nanoparticles exhibit antibacterial activity invitro on opportunistic pathogens different groups, namely the clinical strains Escherichiacoli, Staphylococcusaureus and Candidaalbicans. The uniqueness of the formulation is that it simultaneously has properties characteristic for different groups of pharmacological agents (antioxidants, prebiotics, antibiotics). Type of partner sought - organizations (mainly research) which take part in the development and production of new foundations for dermotropic funds. We are looking for industrial partners interested in the development of the proposed industrial designs dermotropic funds.
