Purpose of the development: Ukrainian Institute has developed and implemented a unique technology of ion-plasma nitriding thermocyclic and equipment for applying restorative coating on the workpiece, which can increase the erosion resistance and the degree of fatigue, reduce creep of the corresponding elements and construction sites. It has a high abrasion resistance, increases performance and prolong machinery life, reduces the need for replacement parts

Recommended application field: The technology is used for all kinds of parts of mechanical engineering and tool production (ranging from aircraft construction and finishing of agricultural machinery) It can handle parts of complex shape, such as a matrix, punches, pistons, pumps, blades, gears, molds, crankshafts, gears, etc.

Advantages over analogues: - in contrast to European technologies not using ammonia, which is toxic, is used as a mixture of nitrogen and argon, that are safe; - no changes in forms and details of the size and fit is not required as in the carburizing and hardening; - wear resistance in parts several times higher than with isothermal technology; - fatigue strength is increased by 25%, although it typically reduces the coating

Thermocyclic ion nitriding is based on a new physical effects (in particular to thermal fatigue theory) and is unique in the world. This technology provides for increased strength of the material by exposing it using a constant temperature is not high, and the thermal shock pulse. It should be noted that, unlike other similar technologies (primarily carburizing and quenching), temperature cycling ionic nitriding is environmentally friendly and is significantly cheaper - by using a mixture of nitrogen and argon. Created several pilot vacuum systems, in which with the help of this technology, the processing batches of parts to order. Currently, the technology continues to improve thermocyclic ion nitriding and boriding development, siliconizing and other technologies. The developers believe that in Ukraine there is a need of modernization of all technological park in the field of heat treatment. This means that the obsolete methods should be replaced with new ones that meet modern requirements. With this in mind, the proposed technology has significant prospects.
