IMAGE POLARIMETRY
Purpose of the development:
Automatic Polarimeter whole field image can be used to measure the optical anisotropy parameters of transparent non-depolarizing spatially inhomogeneous objects and systems in the form of Jones matrix.
Recommended application field:
Optical and physical measurements, namely, non-destructive testing and process residual stresses in the optical elements of the distribution of the phase difference and the orientation of the optical indicatrix.
Technical characteristic:
1) Permissible absolute error when measuring the orientation of the indicatrix (depending on the phase difference of the meaning):
~ 1 ° (30-160 °);
~ 5 degrees (5-30 degrees and 160-175 degrees);
2) permissible absolute error in determining the phase difference (depending on the phase difference value):
~ 3 degrees (30-160 degrees);
~ 5 degrees (10-30 degrees and 160-170 degrees);
~ 10 degrees (5-10 degrees and 170-175 degrees);
3) The power consumption of no more than 100 W;
4) dimensions 690x760x170mm.
Advantages over analogues:
Application of the original polarimetric technique made it possible to realize an analog zero polarimeter for multipath event. This allows you to use as a photodetector serial household CCD camera instead of special CCD for scientific purposes, which significantly reduces the cost of the polarimeter.

() Proposed polarimeter for analyzing the images comprises a gas laser used as a source of optical radiation, the polarizer, the analyzer, the two-dimensional photodetector, a computing device, the optical radiation intensity regulator with rotary device, a linear polariser, a quarter-wave plate and a coherent mixer.
