Purpose of the development: Ukrainian scientists have created a system of "Blagovest", designed to inform drivers about the parameters of the approaching train (approaching the closing of the automatic barrier and the approach of a train to move, the direction and speed of the train, the time remaining before the start of his movements move). It allows you to increase the safety of vehicular traffic while crossing their crossings.

Recommended application field: The system can be implemented within the network of main railway transport of Ukraine, which has more than 5 thousand crossings of various types, as well as through a network of domestic industrial railways. The most effective use of it on railway crossings with high traffic.

Advantages over analogues: With regard to provision of information through the movement transfer system proposed project compares favorably with existing analogues - both domestic and foreign. Prototype system "Blagovest" does not currently exist. Its main difference is the provision of complete information on the point of closing automatic barrier, direction and speed of the train through the crossing, the passage of time to train, free sites approaching the crossing. The system alerts drivers using the display with the moving lines of information. The main advantage of this approach is that the control and information systems are relatively inexpensive advanced facilities. These systems - self-contained, require no circuit coordination with existing systems, automatic crossing signaling and automatic barriers can be installed on the crossings of all types and in all types of traction systems and automatic crossing signaling. In addition, they do not cover functional safety requirements put forward to the systems of railway automation related to train safety.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: Implementation of CIS CP "Blagovest" throughout the state requires minimal investments. At the same time it will reduce the number of accidents at level crossings by 50% or more.

The main cause of accidents at level crossings is often the carelessness and ignorance of drivers of vehicles, which usually do not have the patience to wait for the opening of the automatic barrier or end of the train. Therefore, domestic developers have proposed to equip crossings with new technical means on the basis of modern information technologies. The "Blagovest" system complements the traditional bell at railroad crossings and light signaling. It consists of two counting points, which are located at a considerable distance from the crossing to provide adequate time for warning road users, as well as the central point. To the central point connecting two placards - one on each side of the move - in the zone of the best visibility of vehicle drivers. The equipment provides a countable item: tracking the movement of a passing train in the area of control of the travel sensor by counting the number of axles; determining acceleration and speed of each axis of the train; determining the direction of the train. For information about the train counters via radio transmitted to a central point, which displays it in the form of an information line. KISZHP "Blagovest" significantly improves the awareness of drivers of vehicles and pedestrians moving through the crossing. This, in turn, provides a significant increase of traffic safety.
