Purpose of the development: Ukrainian Institute has developed a device for the diagnosis of eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy. This device and method for self-examination of the blood vessels and the central area of the retina (macula).

Recommended application field: The device can be used as healthcare and educational institutions, as well as for self-diagnosis.

Advantages over analogues: - provides diagnostics in real time; - there is no need to expand the pupil of the patient; - makes it possible to detect eye disease at an early stage; - can be used with sensitivity and in the postoperative period.

Unlike stationary ophthalmoscopes, this device is completely portable. It eliminates the need for artificial pupil dilation. Due to the specific design, portable ophthalmoscope can be diagnosed at home with eyes closed. This means that the device is able to detect abnormal even in the age of human skin.
