Description of the development:
() Using the methods of metabolic engineering yeast strains were constructed Hansenula polymorpha, Pichia stipitis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, characterized by elevated levels of alcoholic fermentation of plant essential sugars glucose or xylose biomass compared to the wild type parent strain. Production of industrial ethanol producers need to further improve the characteristics of the alcoholic fermentation in the engineered strains.
Expected result of the investment: the construction of industrial strains capable of efficient alcoholic fermentation, the main sugars of plant biomass glucose and xylose.
