Purpose of the development: Designed and manufactured new construction segment cutter which machined cylindrical wheels not only cuts cylindrical, and bevel gears. This eliminates the need for complex and expensive machines for bevel gears.

Recommended application field: Machine-building and repair enterprises.

Advantages over analogues: Compared with the modular hob, cutter segment has the following advantages: 1. Segmental cutter worm is much cheaper - about 100-150 times. 2. Can be equipped with plates of hard alloy, which is problematic for the hob. Accordingly, more durable and more productive. 3. The same segment cutter cuts each module involute teeth with different angles of engagement, while a single-module hob. 4. When cutting segment is not a phenomenon cropping cutter tooth (when the number of teeth is less than 17). Hobs undercuts the tooth root. 5. Segment Cutter cuts bevel gears - spur and helical (on gear hobbing machine), not a worm cuts. 6. Segment chevron cutter wheel cuts a narrow groove. Hobs are not cuts. 7. Segment cutter cuts the wheel angular bevel gear. The worm does not cut. 8. Segment cutter cuts the flat-topped gear wheel (circular rail). Hobs are not cuts. 9. Segment cutter cuts the internal gear. Hobs are not cuts.

Technical and economic effect: Segment Cutter economically beneficial to any machine-building or repair shops, as if gear hobbing machine can do without expensive and time-consuming to set up the machine for cutting bevel gears, gear shaping machines, along with their very large range of specialties cutters, hobs, cutters, and modular disk cutters .

Description of the development:

Segment cutter is in the form of paired two segments on the arcs which cut cutting teeth. Mounted on a milling machine instead of hob. The cutter cuts the teeth by running a continuous division. Can be done on any machine-building enterprise of the standard slotted disc mills or modular design with carbide plates.
