When this value increases carriage only 3-4%, and most resource wearing parts is increased by several times to several ten times. Analogues cost more at 1-2 thousand USD, than the modernized carriages.

Ukrainian Institute developed the technology upgrading of freight wagons bogies, the essence of which is to replace the standard trolleys friction units on the new resource with improved characteristics (adapted for American companies of CIS devices) and an introduction to the design of the wheels with the new wear-resistant profile rolling ITM-73. Operational and dynamic testing and observation confirmed cars in operation, and in some cases also exceeded the projections for the proposed effectiveness of upgrading. Today in Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation operated about 25,000 modernized new wheels of cars. The estimated cost of the conversion is only $ 2,000.
