TECHNOLOGY FOR STRENGTHENING (NANOSTRUCTURING) OF THE MACHINE PARTS SURFACES


Purpose of the development: The technology allows you to create specific fine-grained structure of the working surfaces of machine parts, without changing the structure of the matrix material. The use of technology enhances the life of the machine parts.

Recommended application field: The technology can be used in food, machinery, coal and oil and gas industry for strengthening bushings and pump shafts, rods of hydraulic cylinders, compressors and conveyors fingers, the end faces of the gear rings and unloading hydraulic pumps, countertops and wood shredders knives and other cylindrical and plane-faced surfaces.

Technical characteristic: - heating of the surface layers of parts at a rate of 100000 -1000000 K / s; - the thickness of the hardened layer on steels up to 100-800 microns; - micro-hardness of 6-12 GPa; - enhanced surface roughness of Ra = 0,4-3,0 mm; - the coefficient of sliding friction of 0.02-0.04.

Advantages over analogues: The technology is simple to implement on turning, surface grinding machines and round-slightly modernized them without large capital investments. The technology allows you to create specific fine-grained structure of the working surfaces of machine parts, without changing the structure of the matrix material.

The development stage readiness: Introduced in production

Technical and economic effect: The use of technology enhances the life of the machine parts by 2-3 times with an increase in the complexity of 20-30%. The economic effect is obtained by: - increase the service life of; - reducing the material and energy costs; - reducing repair costs.

The technology is based on the use of high-energy friction. In the area of frictional contact a workpiece and a special restorative tool is an intensive heating of the surface layers of parts with simultaneous plastic deformation and rapid cooling. Such conditions make it possible to disperse structure and saturate the surface layers of various alloying elements of the process media is fed into the treatment zone. The depth and microhardness of hardened surface layer and the surface roughness can be changed processing modes. The resulting surface nanocrystalline structure has a reduced coefficient of friction compared to hardened steel. They are characterized by high wear resistance, corrosion resistance erosive destruction and contact fatigue.
