TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

TECHNOLOGY FOR SURFACE HARDENING OF THE TITANIUM ALLOYS PRODUCTS IN A CONTROLLED GASEOUS ENVIRONMENT


Purpose of the development: Improved corrosion and tribological properties of friction pairs titanium alloys working with contact loads, including in aggressive environments (solutions of acids, salts, etc.). The technology is based on the diffusion saturation of the surface layers of nitrogen.

Recommended application field: Machinery, aircraft; medicine, treatment of surgical instruments, as well as special staples and pins for the treatment of various fractures may also decorative application, for changing the processing conditions can change the color of items.

Technical characteristic: The technology provides: - high wear resistance and corrosion resistance by forming a solid solution of complex zones 100-200 m depth; - intensification of the saturation process at all stages of the process; - preserving strength properties, structure and increase ductility by reducing the process temperature (750-850 ° C); - the preservation of the surface quality (used as the final process step); - formation in the surface layers of the necessary structural-phase state and the control surface hardening level over a wide range (from 7 to 14 GPa) due to changes in the temperature-time gas-dynamic and process parameters; - processing of items of any configuration including holes of any diameter and length using a serial electric vacuum and commercially pure nitrogen.

Advantages over analogues: The technology provides a high quality surface, is used as a final process step, a technologically simple and clean.

The technology uses a multi-component gas components saturating the environment as levers of influence on the processes of phase formation and phase transformation through technological saturation parameters (time-temperature, gas-dynamic). Also it allows you to change the intensity of the physical and chemical processes in the phase between the range and control of structural-phase state when in the surface layers, adjusting its functional properties, in accordance with operating conditions. Technology enables the formation on titanium alloys at saturation thermo controlled gas environment fortified complex gradient layers with surface single-component and multi-component functional films.
