SYNTHETIC CORDIERITE AND PRODUCTS BASED ON ITS


Purpose of the development: To improve the production of new highly thermostable solid and porous ceramic materials.

Recommended application field: The invention is industrially applicable and can be used in the production of technical ceramics. Enterprises Materials Research directions.

Advantages over analogues: Щre dressing technology is developed. Since one of the components in the initial mixture should be quartz, that is suitable for synthesis of cordierite sillimanite concentrates third-second grade. This factor can significantly affect for the better on the cost of producing cordierite ceramics.

Technical and economic effect: The technical result of the claimed technical solution is to provide for the manufacture of cordierite ceramic mass with a feedstock available and more economical than in the prior art method.

Production of cordierite ceramics in the form of a single-phase product is one fairly complex physical, chemical and technological processes. The complexity of the synthesis of cordierite (2Mgo-2Al2O3-5SiO2) high (95-98 vol.%) Content of the main phase is determined by the fact that its constituent oxides of magnesium, aluminum and silicon have a high melting point -2800, 2030 and 1700 * respectively, sintering 1600 *. At the same time the low temperature incongruent melting of cordierite - 1460 * C does not allow to raise its synthesis temperature above 1400 C *. The IPM NASU established fundamentals of the directed synthesis cordierite low (2-3 vol.%) Content of impurity phases by solid-phase sintering in the temperature range 1000-1360 * and crystallization of hardened glass. The range of compositions close to stoichiometric cordierite, a low thermal expansion is minimal. On the basis of the synthetic cordierite developed new technology for manufacturing thermal Visoko persistent dense and porous (22-24, 45-50%) of ceramic materials with low coefficient of linear expansion (0.8-1.2 C * - 10-6 in the range 20-800 C * ) and high mechanical strength of catalysts and particulate filters.
