SUTURES WITH A BIOACTIVE COATING FOR SURGERY AND DOMESTIC TECHNOLOGY OF THEIR MANUFACTURING
Purpose of the development:
Sutures polyfilament structure with a bioactive polymer coating based nanocomposite chitosan and natural aseptic propolis, gidrofobizatsieya fiber surface, and reduces capillary wicking effect, enhances the biological activity of the threads, their decontamination capacity.
Recommended application field:
Medical sector (surgery).
Advantages over analogues:
- the decline in the 6-10 times and capillary wicking effect achieved water repellent surface of the fibers and improves the biological activity of the filaments and their ability to be decontaminated;
- producing yarns with the effect of sucking in adjustable time.

Description of the development:
() Naturally occurring polymer chitosan was chosen to cover surgical threads. The expediency of its use due to its biocompatibility and is absolutely harmless to the body. Furthermore, chitosan can withstand sterilization conditions required almost no deterioration of properties available readily soluble in volatile solvents, it facilitates formation of a predetermined thickness coating solutions, and solutions solidification method can adjust their supramolecular and porous structure.
