SYSTEM FOR RADIATION-ECOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF RESERVOIRS "RADSCOUT MK.3" - FREEBOARD ROBOT FOR SURVEY AND MAPPING


Purpose of the development: The new device makes measurements on the surface, and the depth of water at the bottom of the reservoir, and not only measured EDR, but the gamma radiation. Treatment of gamma-ray spectrum allows us to identify and calculate the concentration of radionuclides in soil and sediments of water bodies.

Recommended application field: The device is used for radiation-ecological studies of reservoirs.

Advantages over analogues: Software (SW) performs all functions in real time: - telemetry data collection (counting rate of a surface detector gamma-ray spectrum, the battery voltage, the GPS - data); - data transfer "on the shore"; - receiving and displaying the current values of the notebook; - mapping; - processing of gamma-ray spectrum.

RadScout mk.3 is an autonomous radio-telemetry system with automatic reference to the results of GPS - coordinates. The system includes: - floating platform with a compact installation of traction; - measurement and control unit; - submersible scintillation spectrometry detector of gamma radiation; - two on-board video camera - outdoor and underwater; - radio-controlled winch. As part of the measuring unit: - batteries and power supplies; - radio system traction unit and servo drives; - GPS-module; - surface scintillation detector of gamma radiation; - amplitude spectrometer analyzer; - controllers of reception and transmission of telemetry data; - video transmission system.
