Purpose of the development: Semiconductors CdTe with nanostructured surface perspective for the creation of high-speed photodiodes, optical modulators, solar cells and other devices photonics.

Recommended application field: In the manufacture of semiconductors.

Advantages over analogues: The proposed development of the formation of nanoscale structures can occur in both the solid and liquid phases due to the formation of defect-deformation continua when irradiated material.

Description of the development:

Laser irradiation caused by their action and, in particular, heating of the optical excitation of deformation, shock waves and surface forms a high solids concentration of point defects. When exceeding the critical concentration is their clustering and formation of nanometer-sized islands. This process occurs during irradiation by single nanosecond pulses of ruby laser CdTe crystals. With the increase in laser pulse power density nanoparticle dimensions of first increase and then decrease, while depending on the pulse parameters are arranged in various structures of the relief.
