TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

MICROBIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY FOR SYNTHESIS OF MOLECULAR HYDROGEN FROM ENVIRONMENTALLY HAZARDOUS ORGANIC WASTE


Purpose of the development: Ukrainian Institute offers an effective solution for the production of hydrogen from food waste.

Recommended application field: Food production, waste companies, food markets, food companies, hotel chains, municipalities.

Technical characteristic: The drug has a high yield: - the output of useful products per 1 ton of waste: ~ 160 m3 mixture of molecular hydrogen gas, about 150 kg of solid fuel; - the net yield of biogas per 1 ton of waste: H2 - 123000 L, CH4 - 60000 l.

Advantages over analogues: - easy recycling energy (3-7 days for processing, destruction - up to 95%); - unlimited storage and easy transportation of the drug.

The development stage readiness: tested in laboratory condition

The search for alternative sources of clean energy - one of the most pressing problems of mankind. The most promising and environmentally friendly fuel is molecular hydrogen. Its combustion leads to cleaner final product - water. However, modern technology has a number of shortcomings: the inability to obtain cheap hydrogen; physical and chemical technologies are expensive; microbiological processes - is not enough stable and reproducible. Proposed effective solution: dry microbial pellets for industrial use, allowing easy and 5 times faster than conventional technology to process food waste for energy. Stage of the project: established research and industrial technology; created by a model plant for processing of mixed food waste (ACT) to obtain three types of energy; a mini line for production of 50 kg / month of dry microbial preparation; coordinated development industrial operating procedures. The project required initial investment in the amount of 550 000 dollars for 70% stake in the company for the development of the same market (region, country) Project implementation period - 1 year.
