EQUIPMENT FOR INTEGRATED RESEARCH OF THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF LIQUIDS UNDER HIGH PRESSURES
Purpose of the development:
Creating a complex precision equipment for measurement of liquids C and D over a wide pressure range (0.1-100 MPa) and temperatures (293-393 K) with a minimum amount of the test substance (15 ml).
Recommended application field:
Information database on thermophysical properties of fluid systems in a wide range of pressures and temperatures:
- the equation of state,
- elastic modules,
- coefficients of thermal expansion, specific heat.
Chemical, petrochemical, oil refining, pharmaceutical industry:
- laboratory testing and analysis of chemical products, petroleum products, working materials processes occurring at high state parameters.
- individual biomedical research facilities in extreme conditions.
Technical characteristic:
A control measurement of the velocity of propagation of ultrasound C and D density of n-heptane, n-nonane and kicks.
The experimental conditions and the results obtained:
1. Interval pressure: 0.1-100MPa.
2. The error of pressure measurement: 0.01 MPa.
3. Temperature range: 293-393K.
4. Temperature accuracy: 0.1K.
5. Converters type: quartz resonance.
6. Working frequency: 12.5MGts and 15 MHz.
7. The minimum sample volume: 10 cm3.
8. Measuring error C: 0.03-0.1%.
9. The error in determining D: 0.1-0.5%.

Description of the development:
() Research methods:
- the complexity of measurements C and D are achieved by using a single method of recording acoustic changes in these variables when you change the parameters of the state;
- the characteristics of C and D are defined at the same thermodynamic conditions and without changing the sample;
- applied a precision pulse-phase measurement method.
The equipment includes a camera for absolute measurements of the velocity of propagation of ultrasound on the saturation line, pycnometer and a camera for relative measurements C and D.
