SEMI-QUANTITATIVE METHOD FOR ANALYSIS OF THE SIMILARITY SONOGRAM OF THE ANIMALS SOUND SIGNALS

Purpose of the development: Developed method for analyzing audio signals in animals sonogram, which minimizes the subjectivity in their description and comparison without losing any information about the form of their components and the overall structure of the signal.

Recommended application field: Acoustic Communications Research of animals quantitative comparison signals without loss of their general shape and structure information. The method was tested in a study of the spatial and temporal variability of finch songs on the territory of Ukraine. The method is designed to streamline the system of elements corresponding to their real distribution in the song finch; established a clear link between the sound element and its place in the structure of the songs, regardless of the type of songs or the place of its recording; it revealed a complex structure of the Finch song dialects; it shows that the spread of types of songs is not accidental.

Advantages over analogues: 1. A method significantly reduces the subjectivity of the analysis and comparison of sounds of animals in the sonogram, thanks to the formalization of the description and comparison of not-possible graphic information on such signals. 2. Type of expert assessment of the symbol an acoustic signal clearly defined set of features of the graphical image with the evaluation result in the form of a formal "formula" signal. 3. Avoiding the disadvantages of other methods of analyzing sonograms - subjectivity of visual comparison, the loss of information about the shape of the elements. 4. Perspective selection of samples elements of sound signals for their recognition software on the sonogram.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Description of the development:
()
Methods to achieve the goal: 1. Strictly formalized description of the elements of the audio signal. 2. Classification of the elements with the help of cluster analysis. 3. Create a sound "formula" like a formalized description of the sequence of elements in the form of alphanumeric codes. 4. Classification options sounds with their "formula" with the help of cluster analysis.
