Purpose of the development: A series of conformational hindered bicyclic analogs of naturally occurring amino acid, proline, and their subsequent use in the preparation of peptide mimetics.

Advantages over analogues: - a wide variety of synthetic analogs of proline series allow varied peptidomimetic structure, in order to select the least toxic; - the possibility of finding disabilities - candidate compounds for further drug development.
