TEST SYSTEM STMEC ("ECT-MEK") FOR RAPID ANALYSIS OF THE PRESENCE IN CLINICAL MATERIALS STAPHYLOCOCCI, AND THEIR RESISTANCE TO BETA-LACTAM ANTIBIOTICS
Purpose of the development:
Test system for rapid analysis of the presence in clinical samples of staphylococci (Staphylocociis spp:. S.aureus S.epidermidis S.haemolyticus etc...), And their resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics, which are antibiotics of first choice in the treatment of staphylococcal infections.
Recommended application field:
Medical diagnostics; clinic, health care institutions.
Advantages over analogues:
Rapid diagnosis for three-four hours (the traditional test takes at least three days).
StMec based on PCR, therefore, does not require a lot of time, is an economic (cheaper than traditional bacteriological methods), high sensitivity (sensitivity up to 90-95% as opposed to the traditional method, whose sensitivity varies between 50-60%) and highly specific (specificity - ability to identify resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics is 90-95%, the traditional diagnostic method is 40%).
