Advantages over analogues: Rapid diagnosis for three-four hours (the traditional test takes at least three days). StMec based on PCR, therefore, does not require a lot of time, is an economic (cheaper than traditional bacteriological methods), high sensitivity (sensitivity up to 90-95% as opposed to the traditional method, whose sensitivity varies between 50-60%) and highly specific (specificity - ability to identify resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics is 90-95%, the traditional diagnostic method is 40%).
