MONITORING SYSTEM MOLD FOR THE OSCILLATION CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE SETTINGS


Purpose of the development: The system is designed for use in steel production in order to control the movement of the machine parameters of the mold continuous casting. The system registers the linear accelerations in 4 points on the surface of the mold and the calculation based on these data in the motion path of the mold space.

Recommended application field: In the metallurgical industry.

Technical characteristic: - type and number of sensors - four 3-axis accelerometer; - measuring the frequency - 1,600 samples per second (for each sensor); - measuring time - 2 seconds; - the estimated accuracy - 0.05 mm.

Advantages over analogues: - short measurement time; - easy management in real-time measurement; - clarity of data presentation.

Description of the development:

The system includes an acceleration measuring units (sensors), data acquisition module and a personal computer. Sensors located at four points on the surface of the mold is carried out simultaneous measurements of acceleration in three axes (X, Y, Z). The acceleration data is sent to a computer, using specialized software calculate the oscillation parameters (stroke and frequency) for each axis. The software allows to evaluate the Difference between the desired and actual oscillation parameters in real time. The measurement results are presented in the form of: - a table that contains an array of measured data; - points on motion diagrams of the mold surface in three time axes - 2D visualization; - points chart movements on the mold surface in the space - 3D visualization; - protocol on the measurement results. The system has passed preliminary tests at OJSC "Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works".
