INSTALLATION FOR DETERMINING THE FACTOR OF FILTERING OF CLAY PRIMES IN NUCLEAR CONDITIONS
Purpose of the development:
The installation is designed to determine the permeability of clay soils in full-scale conditions, as close as possible to the real ones by technical parameters.
Recommended application field:
Construction of hydraulic structures.
Advantages over analogues:
The use of this installation allows you to take into account in the soil significant pressure gradients and almost unlimited heads that will be in the structures of hydraulic structures; the design of the plant is quite simple and does not require significant manufacturing costs; the time of the experiment is significantly reduced in comparison with the traditional methods.

Description of the development:
() The invention is directed to the determination of the filtration coefficient in full-scale conditions at pressures and gradients corresponding to the actual and which take place during the operation of the structures. The installation works as follows. Two concentric cylinders are installed on the surface of the soil: internal and external, into which water is poured. In the upper part of the cylinders there is a small air space in which the necessary pressure is created with the help of a pump and a nipple. The pressure is controlled by a pressure gauge and maintained constant throughout the experiment.
The installation for determining the filter coefficient of clay soils in the field was tested on the construction of the upper pool screen of the pumped storage power plant and confirmed its effectiveness.
