Purpose of the development: The main purpose of the development is the substantiation and application of biological approaches and methods for monitoring and analysis of the ecological and meliorative state of the drained land. The development solves the problem of assessing the ecological and meliorative state of the drained land in the monitoring system. The presented scheme includes successive stages of assessing the state of the ectoyaras of the agricultural lands of the drained lands: the analysis of the species diversity of plants, the presence of phytoindicators, the analysis of the distribution of the root system, contamination by geoparasites, and the state of entomofauna. The cameral stage involves the mathematical processing of field observations based on established empirical relationships.

Recommended application field: The results of the research in practice can be applied by agricultural producers, institutions of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, State Water Management Committee, bodies of the State Committee for Land Resources, bodies of the Ministry of Ecology for: - assessing the level of efficiency of drainage systems and the efficiency of using drained land; - evaluation of the ecological and meliorative state of the drained lands for the purpose of rational management of the ecological and meliorative situation; - determination of the main indicators of drained soils for the purpose of planning appropriate agricultural, meliorative and agro-meliorative measures.

Advantages over analogues: The developed methodology allows: to apply mathematical models for calculating the indicators of the state of reclaimed agricultural lands, constructed on the basis of representative biological criteria, which correlate with the basic indicators of the state of the soil; significantly increase efficiency and reduce the cost of monitoring work; to conduct zoning, which is the basis for conducting monitoring studies on drained lands and an effective tool for their territorial analysis; to assess the state of land in the system of ecological and meliorative monitoring on the basis of biological criteria.
