DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNICAL CONDITIONS OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION OF METHANE FROM BLUE-GREEN ALGAE

Purpose of the development: Determination of the residual content of useful biologically active substances and nutrients in the spent substrate for the purpose of its further use as a mineral-organic fertilizer in agriculture and forestry.

Recommended application field: Agriculture, ecology and health.

Technical characteristic: Mixtures of gases - about 1200 ml with 1 dm3 of concentrated substrate for a week at the optimum temperature of 20-30 ° C - with the quantitative and qualitative composition of the product: methane ("80%), carbon dioxide ("15%), other gases ("5%), as well as the absence of hydrogen sulphide, which is part of the biogas obtained from other substrates, and causes corrosion of metal structures.

Advantages over analogues: The method is characterized by the type of substrate used (biomass of cyanobacteria) and the quantitative composition of biogas (increase in methane content due to reduction of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide). The project has analogues at the level of application of methanogenesis, but it has no world analogues in using blue-green algae as a substrate for fermentation, and is also characterized by high methane content in the biogas produced.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: Stage 1 (one year - 25 thousand €): theoretical studies on the establishment of physico-chemical mechanisms of biomethanogenesis of aquatic organisms under the conditions of various abiotic and biotic factors. Stage 2 (one year - 45 thousand €): experimental studies of biological and kinetic-thermodynamic features of methane production by controlling the anaerobic transformation of organic substances of hydrobionts. Carrying out of cameral experiments. Stage 3 (one year - 75 thousand €): construction of a stationary complex from the enrichment column and anaerobic chamber in kind, development of technical conditions for the biogas production from blue-green algae, as well as approbation and introduction of development into industrial production.

Description of the development:
()
A new way of solving the problem of "blossoming" of water by producing methane from the biomass of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) collected from the water area of the cascade of the Dnieper reservoirs during their mass development is a free energy source. During the collection of the seston, only the Kremenchug Reservoir with an area of 2250 km2 in the amount of up to 50 kg / m3 from the volume of 828 million m3 of shallow water (depth up to 2 m, 18.4% of the reservoir area) in the water area of the seston will be 4.14 x 107 tons in Vegetation period (70 days). By subjecting this biomass to fermentation in the process of methanogenesis, it is possible to obtain up to 108 million m3 of biogas (87 million m3 of methane), which is equivalent to 76,000 tons of oil or 65,000 tons of diesel fuel. Application of the development will improve the ecological state of the river. Dnepr, coastal settlements and recreational areas, to increase the productivity of fish, as well as to reduce the cost of water purification in accordance with GOST "Drinking water", since the removal of cyanobacteria from water will lead to an improvement in its quality (natural fermentation in water accumulates methane, acetone, oil and acetic acids, butanol, phenols, amides such as "cadaveric poisons" (putrescine), etc.).
