METHOD OF NEUTRALIZING TOXIC GAS-PRODING PRODUCTS OF DETONATION OF EXPLOSIVE SUBSTANCES
Purpose of the development:
The use of catalysts of different chemical nature and structure to reduce the volume of gaseous products during the detonation of explosives. Creation of well bore designs for complete chemical transformation of explosives in the front of the detonation wave with improving the quality of crushing rocks.
Recommended application field:
Geotechnical and mining mechanics, technogenic and ecological safety; labor protection and life safety.
The development stage readiness:
Introduced in production
Technical and economic effect:
The economic effect amounted to 167 thousand UAH.
Description of the development:
() Catalytic acceleration of secondary reactions of explosive transformation reduces the amount of toxic emissions to atmospheric air. Crushing of catalysts, their use in a colloidal state, increase in the roughness of their surface lead to an increase in their catalytic activity, not only due to an increase in the area of mutual contact of the substrate with the catalyst, but also due to the growth in the number of active centers.
The catalytic acceleration of the processes of oxidation and reduction by salts and oxides of heavy metals is of particular importance for secondary reactions of explosive transformation. Mixed catalysts are used, which increase the selectivity of the action of the active substances - addition of chromium oxide (Cr2O3) to iron oxide (Fe2O3), addition of copper oxide (CuO) and manganese dioxide (MnO2). Catalysts also use alkali metal salts, oxides and salts of transition metals.
The design of charges with chess, diagonal and asymmetric arrangement of charges of explosives and catalysts was developed, tested and implemented in the industrial conditions of the Ryzhevsky granite quarry, the career of the Poltava GOK.
