Purpose of the development: For a scanning discrete matrix image converter with adaptive digital correction of geometric noise.

Recommended application field: Biomechanics, medicine.

Advantages over analogues: The method is characterized by a processing algorithm built on the analogues of the visual system of man and higher mammals and allows you to obtain information about the current parameters of the FPD directly in the process of observing the object.

The adaptive calibration procedure allows for testing and correction of the non-uniform sensitivity of the FPE matrix based on the observation results of the object under study, that is, under the conditions of the maximum possible adaptation to the study conditions. A special feature of the method is the use of a two-dimensional scanning of the FPD matrix with respect to the image. With the unchanged field of view of the observed object and the fixed position of the camera relative to possible sources of stray background radiation, this procedure allows obtaining additional information about the FPD and carrying out an adaptive correction of their parameters. A natural analogue of the system in which such a scan is performed is the visual system of higher mammals and humans. To implement the algorithm for suppressing geometric noises resulted in the constructed installation, which are guided by a personal computer using the developed software.
