POLYPROPYLENE SURGICAL, BACTERICID THREATS
Purpose of the development:
The developed domestic surgical polypropylene nanofilled monofilaments are used in surgery for wound suturing and the manufacture of reticular implants, the filaments show a high bactericidal effect, have enhanced mechanical and manipulative properties.
Recommended application field:
Medicine. Surgery.
Advantages over analogues:
The developed domestic surgical polypropylene nanofilled monofilaments completely replace foreign analogues.
The development stage readiness:
The working documentation is developed
Description of the development:
() The innovation of the development is the use of bactericidal nanoadditives. Such additives are nanosilver, deposited on nanosilica, which allows to significantly reduce the amount of silver and avoid the toxic effect of silver ions. Also, the bactericidal effect of PP monofilament is produced by carbon nanotubes and a combination of nanotubes with polyhexomethylguanidine chloride.
The laboratory for the first time conducted scientific research and developed a technology for the production of domestic surgical bactericidal polypropylene monofilaments with high manipulation and mechanical properties. Considering the insignificant number of nanoadditives introduced into the melt at the stage of formation, the cost of such filaments is at the level of the cost of filaments from conventional polypropylene.
