Purpose of the development: Manufacture of leather hydrophobic materials, have water-repellent properties.

Recommended application field: Military and industries where water repellent shoes are used.

Advantages over analogues: The novelty of the innovation lies in the fact that the method for hydrophobizing leather materials involves the active substance-C20-C24 alkylene polymerized with maleic anhydride, which imparts materials to increased resistance to water.

The skin of ordinary fat easily absorbs and transmits water. Such leather materials are not suitable for making military and work shoes. Leather, manufactured using the proposed method, can withstand operation in conditions of high humidity of the environment without blotting for at least three hours. The method includes emulsion fat-hydrophobization and fixation with aluminum-potassium galloons in two stages.
