Purpose of the development: For the prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency, rickets, hypokadicemic tetany, osteomalacia and bone diseases on a metabolic basis (hypoparathyroidism and pseudohypoparathyroidism).

Recommended application field: Medicine. Preterm and premature infants of the first months of life; children in unfavorable living conditions; pregnant women with vitamin D3 deficiency.

Advantages over analogues: An aqueous solution of vitamin D3 is better absorbed than an oil solution and more convenient to use for newborns compared to a tablet mold. The drug does not reduce the effectiveness of vitamin D3, has no toxic effects, is characterized by a long shelf life. The water-soluble vitamin D3 preparation contains no preservatives, stabilizers, sugar substitutes and flavors, which are especially undesirable for children of the first year of life.

Vitamin D3 is an active antirachitic factor, the most important function of which is the regulation of the metabolism of calcium and phosphate, promotes proper mineralization and growth of the skeleton. It is necessary for the functioning of parathyroid glands, intestines, kidneys, immune and bone system, plays an important role in the transport of mineral salts, in the absorption of calcium and phosphates from the intestine and in the excretion of their kidneys. Insufficiency of vitamin D3 during the rapid growth of the child leads to rickets, disorders in the formation of tooth enamel, in adults - to osteomalacia, and in pregnant women - before the onset of symptoms of tetany.
