Advantages over analogues: An important feature of hydrogel dressings is that they do not adhere to the wound. Therefore, unlike traditional cotton dressings, their replacement is painless and without damaging the new epidermis. The transparency of the material allows you to monitor the condition of the wound without removing the bandages. The application of hydrogel dressings to the wound or burn creates an immediate anesthetic effect due to the cooling of the wound with a significant mass of water, which has a high heat capacity. At the same time, a very soft and elastic hydrogel tightly adjoins the relief of the wound, isolating it from the external infection. Antiseptics, analgesics and painkillers contained in the gel matrix, disinfect, anesthetize and treat the wound for the next hours and days.

The conversion of these materials to crosslinked polymer matrices is carried out by irradiation with light or chemical cross-linking.
