Purpose of the development: To prevent operational personnel of strategic facilities, military units, recreation camps and private individuals about the high likelihood of lightning occurring together, their location.

Advantages over analogues: In comparison with the existing samples of the indicators of the electric field strength of the atmosphere in the world, it has the following main advantages: the effectiveness of the sensor is independent of the presence of wind, rain and fluctuations in atmospheric pressure. The sensor does not contain any elements moving or imitating the movement of the electrodes. As a result, the level of energy consumption is an order of magnitude lower than that of analogues. Therefore, the operating time in the autonomous mode (on the battery) exceeds the duration of the thunderstorm period. The cost of the sensor and warning system is several times less than that of competitors.

The warning system for lightning hazards is based on the concept of monitoring the intensity of the electric field of the atmosphere for the use of sensors operating on the effect of corona current from metal rods. The warning of lightning hazard is carried out 10-15 minutes before the occurrence of a lightning strike in a particular place with a probability of more than 90%.
