TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT FOR MODIFICATION OF MELT BY PRECISION COMPLEX BRIQUETTED MODIFICATORS


Purpose of the development: The Ukrainian Institute has developed and offers to introduce technology and equipment for the production of high-strength cast iron with nodular graphite - one of the most promising cast construction materials for a wide range of engineering products.

Recommended application field: Production of cast iron.

Advantages over analogues: Modification of melts of iron cast iron Fe-Si-Mg with briquettes has the following advantages: - increasing the strength characteristics of cast iron to 825-848 MPa, with the strength of cast iron serial production of not more than 755 MPa; - increase in the stability of rolls by 15-20% when comparing the rolls of LSD-41 cast with the use of Fe-Si-Mg powder modifying briquettes, and rolls made of high-strength cast iron of serial production LSh-41.

The Ukrainian Institute has developed a method for ensuring the high strength of cast iron alloys by introducing modifiers of the second kind (inoculators), which, with a high degree of reliability and predictability, have a direct effect on crystallization processes and achieve the desired properties of the metal. The developer proposes to carry out the modification with small additives of Mg, Ca, Y, Ce, etc. rare earth metals, due to which the optimal spherical shape of graphite in cast iron is achieved. The most effective spheroidizing element is magnesium, since only it provides the most correct form of spherical inclusions of graphite in cast iron of various compositions, complete spheroidization of graphite in cast iron occurs already at 0.03% Mg. For other spheroidizing elements, their content in cast iron should be ~ 2 times greater. Developer resources for project implementation: - technological and technical documentation for the manufacture of powder briquetted modifiers; - technological instruction on the technology of steel modification using powder wires; - domestic raw materials for the organization of production of briquetted modifiers; - long-term scientific and practical experience; - scientific and technical team. Developer suggestions for cooperation: - introduction of technology for modifying melts of cast irons by powder briquetted modifiers; - organization of serial production of briquetted modifiers; - introduction of technology for modifying the melts of steel with flux-cored wires.
