TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

PROJECT "FLAX OF KIEV REGION"

Purpose of the development: The developer from Ukraine offers a project for the cultivation and primary processing of flax fiber with the subsequent manufacture of yarn.

Recommended application field: Flax breeding.

Advantages over analogues: 1. In Ukraine there is no production of flax fiber and yarn - products from natural renewable raw materials, which are in demand on the world market. 2. The project will restore the flax industry and will result in the implementation of similar projects in the other five regions of Ukraine. 4. Len-dolgunets is a culture that is grown on poorly fertile lands and unpretentious for growing, is resistant to temperature changes in weather conditions. 5. Len-dolgunets is a renewable raw material of agrarian activity, which does not harm the environment and promotes self-cleaning of contaminated territories. 6. With the use of modern technologies of cultivation and harvesting on modern agricultural machinery, flax-dolgun gives high yields. 7. Cooperation with research stations and the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine will give high results of yield and quality of raw materials - flax. 8. The processing of flax is planned to be carried out at the expense of an alternative type of energy, which will make it possible to reduce the cost and produce products for the Ukrainian and world markets will be more competitive. 9. Processing flax-dolguntsa on high-tech equipment will provide an opportunity to obtain a high-quality natural product, which is in great demand in the world market. 10. In the EU, France may be a possible competitor, but due to the small volumes of flax cultivation, there is practically no competition on the world market and the market is unfilled, therefore the linen yarn is replaced with a synthetic thread. 11. According to a similar project, the flax industry of the Republic of Belarus starts to be intensively restored, but they have obsolete spinning equipment, so the yarn of Belarus does not comply with European standards.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: - restoration of flax-fiber growing on unused lands in the north of the Kiev region, where flax was traditionally grown; - restoration of primary processing of flax fiber for flax fiber to produce yarn; - growing flax in contaminated areas will lead to self-cleaning of the territory; - provision of workplaces for the population, filling the budget with taxes, development of infrastructure in the regions of the north of the Kiev region; - the production of yarn from natural domestic raw materials - flax will provide light industry with its own natural raw materials, import substitution and export of Ukrainian products to world markets.

Description of the development:
()
Enterprises engaged in the cultivation and processing of flax-dolguntsa worked in Ukraine until about the end of the 90-ies of the twentieth century. At two powerful flax-processing plants (Zhytomyr and Rovno), a full cycle was started from processing trusts to manufacturing finished products. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the entire flax-growing industry fell into decay and was gradually destroyed. In the modern world, the tendency is growing to use products made from natural raw materials instead of synthetic products. Linen yarn, from which fabric and other products are manufactured, are considered to be among the most ecological and popular, and their production is one of the most profitable and non-risky activities. Flax-fiber is a renewable raw material of agrarian activity, which does not harm the environment. The developer offers a project to revive the flax industry, which was launched in Ukraine, traditional for Polesie. The project provides for the cultivation of flax fiber, its primary processing and subsequent processing for yarn on high-tech equipment of European manufacturers. In the village of Fenevichi, Ivankov district, there are free unoccupied land resources (decayed lands in the amount of 3000 hectares) of agricultural purpose, where flax was formerly grown. They can become a launching pad for the cultivation of flax-dolguntsa. The primary processing plant and the yarn manufacturing workshop are desirable to be placed as close as possible to the raw material base, which will reduce the transportation costs for the delivery of raw materials - straw for processing. This may be the territory of the former Ivankov Flax Factory in the Kiev region, which is located 18 km from the village. Fenevichi or to the territory of another neglected production. For the first stage of the project to grow and collect flax, you need agricultural equipment, seed and mineral fertilizers, and also the costs of preparing the land for sowing (uprooting of trees on decayed and non-disintegrated lands). For the second stage of the project implementation, it is necessary to install high-tech equipment manufactured by the European Union countries for flax processing for flax fiber. The third stage of the project implementation envisages the production of yarn, the equipment for which is available for leasing in the countries of the European Union. After the realization of the project for the production of yarn and the building of financial potential, it is planned to produce knitted fabrics, linen fabrics and manufacture products from them in the future. In the process of implementing the project, it is planned to cooperate with the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and the research station for bast cultures. In general, the project requires investments of $ 20 million, of which $ 5 million is needed in 2018.
