TURBO-DECODING IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS


Purpose of the development: The complex allows the use of a turbo-codec in data transmission systems, which are significantly affected by interference of a different nature, which is important for wireless communications (satellite, mobile communication), programmable radio systems operating in jumming conditions.

Recommended application field: Wireless communications (satellite, mobile communication).

Advantages over analogues: The computational complexity of turbo decoding is reduced in comparison with the MAP method by 3-7 times with a slight loss of data decoding efficiency (for MAP correlation r = 0.9997, for log-MAP - r = 0.9998). Analytic expressions are obtained that determine the number of elementary mathematical operations that must be performed to decode one binary symbol on a digital signal processor. In comparison with analogs, the program allows you to perform flexible configuration of the codec parameters, estimate the probability of data exchange at a certain level of signal / noise.

The development stage readiness: tested in laboratory condition

Description of the development:

The software package allows you to obtain multimedia data, time and bit rate in bit / s, graphical experimental dependencies of the bit error rate. The user interacts with the program in interactive mode. Required minimum PC requirements: Windows 7; keyboard, mouse; the clock frequency of the GPU is 4 GHz, the RAM is 8 Gb, the video is 2 Gb, the hard disk is 50 Gb and higher. The complex provides necessary reliability of transmission at a certain level of signal / noise in data exchange channels, estimation of probability-energy characteristics using various methods of turbo decoding.
