3D BETZ - APPLICATION OF 3D-PRINTING IN CLINICAL MEDICINE
Purpose of the development:
The project allows the creation of anatomical models that can be used to train and plan surgical interventions.
Recommended application field:
Practicing surgeons, students of medical universities, educational medical institutions.
The development stage readiness:
Ready for application
Description of the development:
() The use of 3D printing in clinical medicine has greatly expanded in recent years, especially in neurosurgery, where significant progress in the use of 3D printing is possible, because often the pathology encountered by neurosurgeons involves complex anatomical structures where neuroimaging and the spatial relationship between structures are inalienable component of clinical practice.
The developer offers modeling of three-dimensional models of anatomical structures (skull, cerebral vessels, vertebrae) and their printing on an Anet A8 Desktop 3D Printer. Approximate simulation time in the Vesalius3D program and printing is 48 hours. Three-dimensional models of structures are used in the planning of surgical interventions and for the training of neurosurgeons.
