A demonstrative method for identifying amber is developed based on the method of infrared spectroscopy. Samples of amber from different deposits of Ukraine are investigated and features and differences in their composition are revealed in comparison with the deposits of Poland, Belarus, Russia and the Baltic States. This information makes it possible to identify samples of amber for further processing, distinguish them from young resins, dig and counterfeit counterfeits. Studies of the biological activity of the components of Ukrainian amber have been started. The stimulating effect of cryopreserved samples of amber on the germination of seeds and their growth was revealed. Investigations of the effect of amber constituents on antioxidant, hemolytic, cytostatic and alopathic activity are continuing on the basis of the N.N. Grishko National Botanical Garden.
