Purpose of the development: Control of areas of peatlands, which are potentially dangerous areas of occurrence of fires, monitoring their condition to prevent fire. Identification of residual hidden foci of fire after fire extinguishing measures.

Recommended application field: Environmental, planning institutions, management structures and units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Advantages over analogues: Unlike the well-known analogs, this method makes it possible to quickly monitor the thermal state of the peatlands, quickly determine the areas of ignition, and also with the help of a complex of terrestrial thermal imagers and air thermal imagery, the possibility of detecting residual thermal anomalies after the elimination of combustion.

Monitoring of thermal anomalies on peat bogs based on the use of time series of thermal channels of multi-zonal space images of medium spatial disconnection (seasonal, annual) field measurements by a thermal imager. The result of this work is the isolation of the peat bog contour, the calculation of the absolute temperatures of the surface of the peat bog, the allocation of fire-dangerous anomalous areas, is provided in the form of a geoinformation system. On request, a study can be carried out to determine the thermal state of individual peatlands and their level of fire hazard.
