TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

TECHNOLOGY OF LASER STABILIZATION

Purpose of the development: The Belarusian Institute has developed a technology for laser heat treatment of metal parts to harden their surface and improve durability.

Recommended application field: Mechanical engineering, tool production.

Advantages over analogues: High locality of hardening (which gives significant savings); no need to use cooling media; the possibility of using as a finishing operation due to the lack of danger of warping; great opportunities for process automation.

The development stage readiness: Introduced in production

Description of the development:
()
Laser heat treatment is based on the use of heat generated on the surface of a material when it absorbs a laser beam. Laser hardening technology is applicable to a very wide range of parts. The laser hardening technology of suspension parts (brackets, lugs) of the rear axle of the MAZ 6422 car allows to increase their longevity by 3 times. With reference to the "shaft-spool" type, the hardness achieved on the working necks is 60 units. HRC with a total hardness of 40 parts. HRC. The use of laser hardening in tool production is promising. So, hardening of cutting and cold-pressing tools, details of press-stamping equipment allows to increase their resistance in 3-5 times and more. The process of alloying forging dies from steel 5ХНМ is developed, the durability of which increases by 3-4 times. The method of laser alloying makes it possible to obtain on the steels and titanium alloys layers with a hardness of 68-70 units. HRC, and on aluminum alloys - layers with a hardness of up to 25-30 units. HRC. It is effective for such details as knives for forage harvesters, cutters for mining combines and others.
