LASER DOSIMETER OF SINGLE OXYGEN
Purpose of the development:
The laser dosimeter is designed to record super-weak photosensitized luminescence of singlet oxygen of nano- and microsecond duration in the near-IR spectral range (1200-1350 nm).
Recommended application field:
Photodynamic therapy.
Advantages over analogues:
The dosimeter allows you to control the process of formation and deactivation of singlet oxygen in vivo during a session of photodynamic therapy and to increase the effectiveness of this treatment method by optimizing the light mode.
The development stage readiness:
Ready for application
Description of the development:
() The minimally detected quantum yield of the emission of singlet oxygen is 10 to minus 9 degrees. The original optical scheme provides a unique opportunity to study the time evolution of the luminescence signals of singlet oxygen from the surface of the tissue of experimental animals without placing the objects of study in a light-insulated chamber. Using the created dosimeter, the characteristics of the luminescence of singlet oxygen in various media were determined; the luminescence of singlet oxygen from the surface of the tissue treated with Fotolon® ointment, intended for the treatment of tumor neoplasms by photodynamic therapy, was registered. The dosimeter will allow to control the process of formation and deactivation of singlet oxygen in vivo during the session of photodynamic therapy and to increase the effectiveness of this treatment method by optimizing the light mode.
