IMPLEMENTATION OF INNOVATIVE BIOMELIORATION TECHNOLOGIES IN GENERAL WATER USES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF WATER RESOURCES OF UKRAINE

Purpose of the development: The technology is aimed at the use of environmentally safe, self-sustainable method of cleaning water bodies through the integrated use of aquatic bio-ameliorants.

Recommended application field: Potential government technology customers can be the State Agency for Water Resources of Ukraine, the State Agency for Fisheries of Ukraine, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Conservation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Advantages over analogues: The proposed technology has no analogues in Ukraine. Its implementation realizes an increase of up to 25% transparency of water, the use of an excess of phyto- and zooplankton and soft aquatic vegetation, an improvement in the quality of water resources due to biomelioration. Such results have already been obtained on one of the channels. The technology provides a significant improvement in the quality of water resources, channel capacity. The reduction of energy consumption for pumping water in the channel reached 12%.

The development stage readiness: Tested experimental exploitation order

Description of the development:
()
In Ukraine, there is a significant deterioration in the quality of public water bodies, including and main canals that supply technical and drinking water to the eastern and southern parts of the country. The overgrowing of reservoirs leads to a lack of water for the needs of the population and industry, therefore the smooth functioning of the canals is urgently needed. Based on the approved technology, the complex application of phytophagous biomeliorants with their subsequent protection and normalized removal is proposed. The number and species composition of herbivorous hydrobionts that are populated is scientifically calculated. In order to improve the quality of water resources, the development was introduced as a pilot project of innovative biomelioration technology on one of the canals of Ukraine.
