HEAT PROCESS FOR LOW-POTENTIAL HEAT EMISSIONS


Purpose of the development: The development is intended to improve the efficiency of production, characterized by a significant consumption of thermal energy, based on the utilization of the heat of secondary energy resources (VER) and reducing harmful emissions into the environment.

Recommended application field: Food industry enterprises, restaurant business, greenhouse facilities.

Advantages over analogues: Currently, research and design focused on heat exchangers for medium-potential and high-potential sources. Due to the scientific and technical developments, the conditions for the effective accumulation of low-potential thermal emissions and expedient principles of designing a heat exchanger have been determined.

Sources of low-grade heat are characterized by enormous energy resources, so the use (utilization) of thermal energy that is released is an important practical task. Efficient utilization of low-grade heat of exhaust gases, which is generated at food industry enterprises, in particular, restaurant business enterprises, bakeries and smokehouses, is possible with the use of a heat exchanger with a nozzle containing granulated material. The Ukrainian Academy has developed a project for the creation of an industrial heat exchanger-regenerator for the utilization of heat generated in heat-loaded enterprises with low-potential heat emissions, in particular, food enterprises. This heat exchanger contains a channel into which the granular material is loaded, which is sequentially heated by a gas stream from a source of thermal emissions and is cooled by air. Depending on the needs, it is supposed to use the heat of the air for heating the premises, for heating the process water, etc. Any solid filler with a high specific heat capacity (stone pebbles, ceramic vessels, expanded clay) can serve as a heat accumulator of exhaust gases.
